A 34-year-old Brazilian model was booted from Vatican City – the Catholic city-state bordering Rome. Juju Vieira, an Instagram influencer, alleged that she was kicked out of town for being “too sexy”, The Sun reported. The model mentioned that she felt humiliated after being shown the way out of the holy city. Vatican City, the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church and the home of the Pope, is a sacred place filled with historic and iconic art and architecture. About 50 lakh people visit the city every year. With such a huge influx of tourists, the city administration has formulated a set of rules, including a dress code for both men and women. It seems that JuJu was not aware of the dress code and wore a knee-high pair and a short dress to St. Peter’s Basilica.

The affected person alleged that a person told her that the place was meant for prayers and that she was “not dressed properly.” He was later expelled from Vatican City. “I felt humiliated. I was embarrassed because there were others who heard this,” said JuJu, as reported by The Sun.

The model shared her alleged experience with her Instagram followers, where she described the entire situation. “I didn’t even know there were rules. I was stylish in my winter clothes. Comfort was my only concern,” JuJu is heard saying.

Vatican City is quite strict about the dress code prescribed for visitors and citizens alike. Sleeveless garments and low cut garments are prohibited for women as per the dress code. Men, on the other hand, are not allowed to wear vests. For both men and women, shorts above the knees are not allowed. According to official rules, shoulders must be covered at all times in the city.
