But have you ever thought that there is no bread in the recipe of Bread Pakora? Yes, you heard us. We bring to you a unique Bread Pakora recipe which is made without using any bread. This unique recipe has been curated by Master Chef Kunal Kapoor.

Component

  • 2 cups besan
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp green chili chopped
  • handful coriander, chopped
  • 2 tsp ginger, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp kasoori fenugreek powder
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 1.5 cups (approx) water
  • 1.5 tsp baking soda
  • a dash of oil

For Green Chutney:

  • a small bunch fresh coriander
  • 4 nos tomatoes, medium
  • 1/2 tsp black salt
  • salt to taste
  • a small piece ginger, chopped
  • 4 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • a pinch of sugar
  • 1 green chili
  • handful mint leaves

Method:

For Sandwich:

  • Mix gram flour, cumin, salt, onion, red chili powder, green chili, coriander, ginger, turmeric, kasoori fenugreek, chaat masala, cumin powder, curd and water together.
  • Make it a thick but pourable batter.
  • Heat the sandwich maker and sprinkle some oil on both the sides.
  • At this stage add baking soda to the batter and mix it gently in one direction.
  • Let rest for a minute and then pour the batter into the sandwich maker. Spread the batter evenly to cover the entire area.
  • Close it and let it cook for 7-10 minutes or till it turns light brown from outside.
  • Cut it from the middle and serve hot with chutney.

For Chutney:

  • Make a paste by mixing all the ingredients together in a blender jar.
  • Take it out in a bowl, adjust the seasoning if needed and serve.
  • Make sure the chutney is served chilled. You can store the chutney in the refrigerator for 3 days.
