Graham Potter and his family say he received death threats amid Chelsea’s poor run of form
Brentford boss Thomas Frank said the abuse directed at managers is a “disgrace” after Graham Potter and his family received death threats amid Chelsea’s poor run of form.
Potter said last week that he had received emails “that want me dead and that want my children dead” Chelsea have won only twice in their last 15 games against the Englishman.
Frank told the BBC on Monday: “Unfortunately, in some cases it (abuse) is part of the industry, and I think it is disrespectful in many ways.”
“One abuse is one too many. It is the few who make the most noise and we listen the most. I think it is very important that we be aware that there are still many fans who stands by.”
Frank said that the role of a manager is a “lonely job”.
Frank said, “Hopefully we have some good friends who can take care of us if we lose our jobs.”
“Maybe we’re the only ones who really know the pain that you’re feeling. It’s a lonely job. (The pressure) on the assistant coaches, the players, the directors — it’s totally different. I think it’s important that There should be support.”
