NS All India The Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is working on revising the Mechanical Engineering Syllabus for all its affiliated colleges and institutes across India. Revised curriculum will be more technology focused and include 3D printing, drone manufacturing and information Technology (IT) as subjects for mechanical engineering courses, The Print reported.
The idea behind this curriculum change is to make the curriculum more employable in the rapidly changing demands of the industries. A source close to the development told the news agency that candidates from mechanical engineering background are facing difficulty in retaining jobs due to automation in the core segment.
