The Kerala State Youth Welfare Board will ask the University of Calicut to take steps to avoid the delay in conducting the examination.
In a court held at the district collectorate here on Thursday, a student complained that the university was conducting simultaneous exams for undergraduate and postgraduate courses during the pandemic period. Due to this the students were under a lot of mental pressure and there were reports of massive failures from many colleges. The representative of the university informed the commission that efforts would be made to solve the problem. The commission will submit a report to the government seeking follow-up action.
The commission also considered certain complaints regarding sudden dismissal of people from their jobs without valid reasons. He was also denied several salary benefits. However, no official response was provided from the government departments concerned or the institutions from which the dismissal was reported. Therefore, these complaints will be investigated in the next courts to be held in the adjoining districts.
Commission officials said that as similar cases were reported from across the state, a preliminary report was submitted to the government. The commission has urged the government to issue guidelines on the dismissal of employees citing the pandemic. He said that a detailed survey has been planned to understand the mental and domestic issues as well.
The commission heard 24 complaints and passed orders on nine of them.
