Honda says that it is getting good momentum in terms of demand.

Honda Cars India has registered a decline of 33.66 per cent in the domestic market from 6,765 units sold in September 2021 as compared to 10,199 units sold a year ago. However, the company exported 2964 units in the same month as compared to 170 units exported in the same month last year. The growth in exports is mainly attributable to the extremely low base last year due to the COVID-19 crisis. The company has cited the semiconductor issue as the reason for the shortfall in supply, which ultimately led to a drop in its sales numbers. Honda says that it is seeing good momentum on the demand side.

However, there have been supply chain constraints including widespread chip shortage for the industry. There is a major challenge right now, which impacted our production volume and dispatch during the last month. We will continue to align our production through our best efforts to address this shortfall in the coming months.” “With the start of Shubh Navratri next week, the demand for our fresh line-up will further increase during the festive season and we are positive that it will be useful for us.”
