Caught on camera: BBC bites news anchor by raising legs on desk

BBC presenter Tim Wilcox was caught off-guard during a live broadcast.

Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson is facing the worst political crisis of his life, hanging from his post by a thread following the mass resignations of his ministers. But it doesn’t seem to have any effect BBC Presenter Tim Wilcox, who was caught with his feet on the desk holding his phone during a live broadcast.

A short clip showing the mistake appeared on Twitter and became an instant hit.

the gaffe happened when BBC Correspondent Ross Atkins was reporting live from Downing Street about the number of cabinet ministers who have come to No. 10 when the camera suddenly cut into the studio and showed Mr. Wilcox at ease.

Putting on glasses, he was scrolling through his phone and checking the live feed. Realizing that he was on-air, the anchor suddenly put away his phone, glasses and feet. The footage cut back to Mr. Atkins.

The embarrassing moment only lasted a few seconds, but it was enough for eagle-eyed onlookers to capture the footage and post it on social media. The comments were funny too.

“Why would you do this on live TV?” asked a user. “Fuck in the rich! Don’t get too comfortable at the news desk though,” said another.

“When you’re sitting at Termius station and a passenger comes over to ask a question,” commented one of the Twitter users.

According to a report in The Times, a defiant Boris Johnson has so far turned down calls from inside his own cabinet to resign, saying it could lead to political instability.

“The job of a prime minister in difficult circumstances when you’ve been handed a huge mandate is to keep going. And that’s what I’m going to do,” Johnson told lawmakers on Wednesday. “We will go ahead and give our mandate and win another general election,” he said.

On Tuesday, two key ministers, namely Sajid Javid, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, and Rishi Sunak, Chancellor of the Exchequer, resigned from their posts.

The top minister has been forced to step down amid a controversy surrounding former Conservative Party whip Chris Pincher, who was accused of sexual misconduct.
