CBSE Aryabhatta Maths Challenge: Application process begins for classes 8 to 10, know eligibility criteria

central board of secondary education (CBSE) has started the registration process for Aryabhatta Mathematics Challenge (AGC) 2022. The board has invited applications from the students of class 8 to 10. CBSE The AGC is being organized to focus on the extent to which children are able to apply mathematics in their daily lives.

“Mathematics in everyday life requires the development of specific skills and abilities in students. #AGC2022 being organized by #CBSE This year for class VIII to X. Online registration can be done till 15 November 2022. The official Twitter handle of CBSE Headquarters said.

Candidates can register for AGC by visiting the official websites of CBSE, cbse.nic.in and cbseacademic.nic.in. CBSE affiliated schools can apply till November 15 (5:30 PM).

AGC will be conducted at two levels- Level 1 and Level 2. Level 1 of the competition will be conducted at school level in pen paper mode. Level 2 of AGC will be conducted by CBSE at the national level in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. Participating students must know that no fee will be charged from them for the first phase.

“All schools may encourage their students to participate in the Aryabhasha Maths Challenge and take advantage of the opportunity to identify and nurture the mathematical skills and potential of the students,” the notification said. The Board also informs that the participation and performance of the students in this challenge may also be accepted in the portfolio.

The duration of CBSE Aryabhatta Maths Challenge will be of one hour in both the levels. The question paper will consist of objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The total weightage will be of 40 marks and there will be no negative marks. The question paper with answer key will be made available to the registered schools between November 16 to November 21, 2022. The registered schools will conduct the exam using the question paper to identify the top three students.

The second level exam will be conducted on December 15. Schools can enroll the names of top three students from 28 November to 10 December 2022 by paying an online fee of Rs 900. After successful completion of the second level computer test, a merit certificate will be given to the top 100 students from each CBSE region.

Students of classes 8 to 10 in CBSE affiliated schools are eligible to participate in the school level competition. Whereas only the top three students from each affiliated school registered in the first phase will qualify for the AGC level 2 competition.
