CBSE Board Exam 2023: This year the percentage of aptitude based questions has been increased from 30 per cent to 40 per cent in class 10th and from 20 per cent to 30 per cent in class 12th.
After an unprecedented two years of student life, teaching and learning is back on track central board of secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to do away with the special term-wise exam accommodation done in 2022 and revert to the pre-pandemic one-year exam pattern and marking scheme. However, the board has taken into account the challenges and learning gaps faced by the teaching fraternity and students between 2020-2022, wherein the syllabus needs to be reduced by 30 per cent.
The revised exam pattern sees a marked shift from content-based to competency-based assessment. This has led to a positive and gradual change in educational practices in teaching-learning processes throughout the year. This amendment has been done keeping in mind the objectives of NEP 2020. The changes thus brought will help in assessing the true understanding and potential of the examinee rather than rote learning. New question pattern based on case study, reasoning and assertion, response-based, objective type questions will expand the thinking ability of the students and promote qualitative and logical learning.
Together CBSE With the board exams starting tomorrow, students appearing for them must have completed revising their syllabus a couple of times and are busy fine-tuning their understanding of concepts. Here are some last minute tips to crack the exams in the new pattern:
– This is not a memory test. The clarity of concepts will help you crack the exam with confidence. Seek help from peers and mentors. Solving sample papers and previous year papers will instill more confidence and help in reducing exam related anxiety.
Make a good study plan. Try not to concentrate for long hours of study. Prepare a timetable that includes your daily routine. Take short breaks every 45-50 minutes of study. The timetable helps you to focus on all the subjects equally. You can divide your time on each subject with the help of a timetable.
Divide your syllabus into small segments or topics. Then prepare them as per your timetable. This will help you in better and deeper understanding of each and every topic. Short scale study helps us to understand the sections in less time. This will reduce your pressure during the revision time.
Preparation of notes is one of the most important steps towards scoring more than 90 percentile in board exams. During the revision time at the end of the exam, only notes are helpful. They allow you to get any subject wise score at the end of time.
– Categorizing the important areas of the syllabus according to the weightage of the subjects is one of the smart things to do. By first studying these topics and getting hold of them, you can easily achieve your goal.
— While preparing for your exams, you still need to take care of your physical as well as mental health. Eat well, sleep on time and take short breaks in between studies. You can try to relax by listening to some soothing music. If you are sitting in the same position for a long time, then stretch yourself in between. Put away social media and give your eyes a rest by avoiding the glare of computers and smartphones.
It is important to have a calm mind and calm nerves on the day of the exam. Do not leave things for the last moment as it leads to panic. The day before and the morning of the exam are the only ones to review your notes for the last time. Pack your exam material well in advance and make sure to reach the exam center on time.
