CBSE Board Exam 2023: Mixed response from students on Class 12 Maths paper, some ‘unseen’ questions

central board of secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the Class 12 Mathematics exam today, March 11. There was a mixed response from the students regarding the Mathematics paper. Overall the paper was long and time consuming, said the students. While the questions on Assertion and Reasoning were indirect, there were some unseen questions in Section B. On the other hand, students claim that the questions from Probability, Linear Programming and Differential Equations were straight forward and simple.

The teachers claimed that Q-18 of Set 1 did not have the correct option. “Overall, there was a mixed response from the students regarding the Mathematics paper. Q-18 of Set 1 did not contain the correct option. Assertion-Reasoning questions were indirect. There were also some solved examples from NCERT. Section-B had unseen questions. The questions on Probability, Linear Programming and Differential Equations were very straight and simple,” said Deepika Joshi and Ramneek Kaur, Mathematics teachers at Shiv Nadar School, Noida.

“The paper was of above average difficulty level and most of the questions were long. Overall a long and time consuming paper. Section A was easy and scoring. Section B was also of moderate level. Some questions in section C were challenging for most of the students. Section D was long. And section E was above average difficulty level,” said Deepak Sood, PGT Maths. Genesis Global School, Noida.

A total of 38,73,710 students are appearing in the 10th and 12th examination. The exam is going to be conducted between 10:30 AM and will end at 1:30 PM. Out of the total number of registered students, 16.79 lakh are females. CBSE board exams began on February 15 and will continue till March 21 for class 10 and April 5 for class 12. It is compulsory for all. Students carry your CBSE Admit Card with you in the examination hall with one photo identity proof. Without it, the candidate will not be allowed to enter the examination hall or even appear in the examination. Candidates are not allowed to carry mobile with GPS or any electronic item and all prohibited items to the examination hall.
