Mr. Pant was on his way home from Delhi to Roorkee to surprise his mother and spend the new year with his family when the accident happened.
Police said the cricketer said he dozed off while driving and lost control of the car. He had to break a window to save his life.
His condition is not serious and he has been referred to Max Hospital in Dehradun. A doctor at the hospital said that he had minor injuries and was conscious.
Mr Pant was recently dropped from the T20I squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka.
