Center revises Covid guidelines to reopen schools – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Center on Thursday issued revised covid Guidelines for reopening of schools amid declining trend in COVID cases across the country. The guidelines have been prepared after consultation with the states.

The guidelines are advisory in nature and it is for the states to decide whether schools have to seek consent from parents for physical classes. Guidelines for school reopening will include precaution, timetable, assessment, emotional and mental health.

The guidelines have been prepared in two parts. The first part addresses concerns on health, hygiene and safety aspects while the second part deals with learning with social distancing. “These guidelines are advisory in nature and we have shared them with all the stakeholders and advised them to adopt the same as per the need,” Changasan said. The guidelines call for ensuring and monitoring proper sanitation and hygiene facilities in schools. Schools should not do any such program where social distancing is not possible. The guidelines state that all students and staff arrive at school wearing a face mask and continue to wear it. There is a need to maintain social distancing during the distribution of PM Potion.

NITI Aayog (Health Member) Dr VK Paul said, “School reopening has been a concern. Comprehensive advisories have been issued from time to time.
