LG is one of the first brands to showcase its new OLED TV lineup
LG is taking the wireless technology into new applications, which means you may soon be able to have a TV without the hassle of cables and a cluttered living room.
LG is a big name in the television sector thanks to its high-quality display panels that attract premium buyers. But now the company is sprinkling innovation into its products that let you stream content wirelessly. That’s right, the new LG Signature Series M3 OLED operates wirelessly with the help of its proprietary technology called Zero Connect Box that allows you to stream content from one side of the room to the big screen, all without cables .
This means that the massive 97-inch 4K screen is just that, with no hardware components that generate the content on the display. Instead, the Zero Connect box sends all video and audio to the M3 OLED TV wirelessly.
As per LG’s claim, this box can stay up to 30 feet away from the TV and still give you great results. The box is the mainstay of this product, while the display body is the assembled panel and a bunch of speakers.
The technology, built in-house by LG, uses an algorithm that helps broadcast content through the box in an optimized manner. It is believed to stream 4K content in Dolby Vision and also support G-Sync, which means low-latency gaming could also be a possibility, as long as we get to do it in real-time. We cannot agree on this until we see it happen.
Transmitting audio and video to the big screen is said to be under consideration, but LG is taking it public, at least for the time being. The new TV is still not ready for production, but the company says to expect a concrete launch timeline later this year. As for pricing, LG’s Signature series has some of the attractive price tags on the market, and with new wireless technology in tow, expect this behemoth to cost a bomb.
