Bollywood star Anushka Sharma started shooting for her next feature film on Sunday. Chakda ExpressA biopic on Jhulan Goswami, former captain of the Indian national women’s cricket team.
Produced by Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Sharma’s Clean Slate Films, the film stars Prosit Roy as director.
Anushka announced the start of shooting on her official Instagram profile. “Back where I am… #ChakdaXpress #ShootBegins #ChakdaXpressDay1,” Anushka wrote along with a clip and two pictures from the sets of the film.
According to the makers, Chakda Express Jhulan traces Goswami’s journey as she “climbs the ladder to fulfill her dream of playing cricket for India despite the odds posed by wrong politics”.
The film will stream on Netflix.
Anushka was last seen in the Shah Rukh Khan-led film in 2018 Zero, The actor has since produced the acclaimed Prime Video series Hadesnetflix movie Nightingale and series My: A Mother’s Rage,
