Chennai to host G20 Education Working Group meeting

The G20 Education Working Group meeting will be held on February 1 and 2 at the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M) Research Park.

Before the event, there will be a seminar on the topic ‘Role of Digital Technology in Education’ on 31st January. The education department of the state government will showcase its projects. ‘Nan Mudalvan’ And ‘Namma Palli’ in the program.

The meeting will focus on ensuring foundational literacy and numeracy in the context of blended learning, thereby making technology-enabled education more inclusive, qualitative and collaborative at all levels.

The objective of the meeting is to build a resilient and inclusive education and skilling ecosystem and to realize the creative potential of each learner, as articulated in the National Education Policy, 2020.

13 G20 members and guest countries, including international organizations from countries such as China, Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands, are participating in the seminar, which will have three sessions of panel discussions.

A visit to the heritage sites Mamallapuram has also been organized for the delegates on February 1.
