Chief Minister will go to Durga temple, will offer silk clothes to the goddess

Devotees can have darshan from 3 am on the day of Moola Nakshatram

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will visit Sri Durga Malleswara Swamivarala Devasthanam on the day of Moola Nakshatram on Tuesday and present silk clothes to the goddess.

Sri Reddy, along with Ministers, Members of Parliament and other public representatives, will visit the temple at 3 pm, have darshan of Sri Durga Devi and perform special puja.

Elaborate arrangements were made by officials of the Endowment, Police and Revenue departments and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) for the Chief Minister’s visit to Indrakeeladri.

Collector J. Niwas, Police Commissioner B. Srinivasulu, Joint Collector K. Madhavi Lata, L. Shiv Shankar and K. Mohan Kumar, VMC Commissioner V. Prasanna Venkatesh, Deputy Collector GSS Praveen Chand, Devasthanam Trust Board Chairman Pala Sominayadu, Mayor Rayala Bhagyalakshmi, and Temple Executive Officer D. Bramaramba visited the temple and made arrangements for Sri Jagan’s visit. reviewed.

Shri Niwas said that the government has made elaborate security arrangements for the thousands of devotees visiting the temple every day during the Dussehra festival.

He said that separate arrangements would be made for the differently-abled devotees and senior citizens visiting the Durga temple on the day of Mula Nakshatram.

Srinivasulu said security has been tightened in and around Indrakeeladri for the Chief Minister’s program on Tuesday. Traffic restrictions will be imposed before and after their visit to the temple.

No VIP will be allowed to enter the Devasthanam from 1 pm till the Chief Minister leaves the temple. Devotees will not be allowed to have darshan from 1 pm to 4 pm. Temple officials said the deity would be enshrined as Sri Saraswati Devi Alankaram on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, thousands of devotees on Monday paid darshan of Goddess Durga Devi dressed as Sri Annapurna Devi and Sri Mahalakshmi Devi Alanikaram. Devotees were seen coming to the temple from dawn on the fifth day of the festival.
