The state’s public health department confirmed that a cholera outbreak in Maharashtra’s Amravati district has claimed five lives, while 181 people have become ill.

The dead included two women and three men.

Three of these patients were in the age group of 24 to 40 years and two were above 70 years of age.

On 7th July, water borne disease cholera spread in Chikhaldara and Amravati blocks of Amravati district. Running in three villages of Chikhaldara block (Dongri, Koyalari and Ghana) and one in village (New Akola). Amravati Block.

The state government said that medical teams are working round the clock in the outbreak-affected villages and prevention and control efforts are underway in terms of water quality monitoring, patient monitoring, management and treatment, and health awareness. Huh.

A state level squad is presently in the district to investigate the outbreak and provide appropriate guidance.

Additional Health Secretary (Public Health) reviewed the outbreak situation in detail and necessary instructions have been given to the District Collector and Chief Executive Officer of Amravati District Administration regarding outbreak control.
