Chris Pratt slammed after praising wife for giving her ‘healthy’ daughter

Chris Pratt has come under fire on social media with an Instagram appreciation post for his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, which is dividing opinion across the internet. Sharing a photo of them together ahead of Schwarzenegger’s birthday, Pratt wrote, “Guys. Actually. Look how she is looking at me! I mean. You find someone who looks at you like this!!” All was well so far, but the intended humor of the post fell flat when Pratt followed these lines with how he told her to have a “wonderful life” and a “gorgeously healthy Daughter” is given. This is where it started to go wrong, as Twitter users drew attention to the fact that Pratt also shared a baby with former fellow actor Anna Faris. Nine-year-old Jack was born 7 months premature, reported the Indian Express, and currently lives with visual impairment and a non-life-threatening heart problem. While many users were also scoffing at his own words of the post, where it appeared he was trying to say that he “owned” her, others pointed out that it was ironic and an outright joke.

“It’s not that she needs to include her son, it’s her use of “healthy” that’s problematic because of the situation surrounding her son’s birth. She doesn’t want to describe him as beautiful, precious, or any other. Could have used adjectives. Or he could have simply omitted a descriptor altogether,” wrote one Twitter user.

Notably, actor-couple Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are known for their tongue-in-cheek posts where they take a loving dig at each other. Many social media users felt that Pratt was trying to pull off the same brand of humor but actually failed at it. One user tweeted, “He’s trying to be quirky Ryan Reynolds 2.0, but that’s it, so, it ain’t coming out the way he wanted to.”

Also, his witty description of his relationship with Schwarzenegger also did not go down well with people, especially in the part of his post where he talked about his heart to “belong” to him.

Worst of all the bar naturally found its way under the post. One Twitter user declared the result as ancient riddle: “Clearly the worst Chris,” he wrote.

This clearly doesn’t bode well for Pratt. Humor or not, Twitterati were mainly divided over Schwarzenegger’s use of the word “healthy” for his child.
