Climate change activists are painting Italy’s famous fountain

Climate activists blackened the famous Trevi Fountain in Rome after pouring diluted charcoal into the water during a demonstration on Sunday. Opposing climate change, seven activistsultima generationa(“The Last Generation”) The group climbed into the famous fountain with banners that read “We will not pay for fossil (fuel) fuel,” and chanted, “Our country is dying”.

The group said on Twitter, “1 in 4 homes in Italy is vulnerable to flooding. How much longer do we have to wait for the government to take concrete action?”

Police intervened and waded into the water to take the activists away, while bystanders and tourists filmed the demonstration. One video also showed onlookers insulting climate activists and condemning their stunt. Watch.
