Cognizant has entered into a new five-year agreement to transform and support the technology operations of Nike, the designer, marketer and distributor of authentic athletic footwear, apparel, equipment and accessories. Under the agreement, Cognizant will provide support to customers and partners. New Jersey-based Cognizant will offer Nike onsite and remote support in locations around the world to resolve all hardware issues for employees, from laptops to work phones. Additionally, through Level 1 and 2 support, Cognizant will provide engineering and backend solutions for all of Nike’s enterprise-wide applications, including mobile apps, computer software and Nike.com, the tech firm said in a statement. According to the release, Cognizant is expected to deliver several key capabilities for Nike over the next five years, including new self-service capabilities, improved service productivity and significant cost savings. The Cognizant and Nike collaboration is expected to continue the momentum of Nike’s digital transformation, driven by continued investment in capabilities that drive product innovation, unmatched brand differentiation and deeply personal relationships with Nike’s consumers around the world . As an expansion of the 14-year-old collaboration, the new agreement is expected to consolidate many of Nike’s existing IT support functions with Cognizant, which serves Nike at more than 230 locations in more than 40 countries.
