The head coach of the University of Kentucky, John Calipari, was impressed by the man’s gesture at the basketball game.

Mr. Calipari took to Twitter to share the photo and wrote, “My family’s American dream began in a Clarksburg, WV coal mine, so this photo hits home. From what I’m told, after his shift, He ran to be with his son and see our team.”

He said he didn’t know the person, but was a special gift to the family. “Don’t know who it is, but I have tickets for him and his family to treat him as a VIP at Roop!!” They said.

The post has garnered over 1.6 lakh likes and 14,000 retweets. One user commented, “Bless him and his family. Most people see and criticize him for this man covered in coal dust and dirty from head to toe, his family to a loving husband and father. Sees, his son sees his hero carrying him. For watching his favorite team. Thank you @UKCoachCalipari.” Another user said, “Solid move, Coach. I applaud you both. For handling his business and you for recognizing the effort. I hope he takes you up on the offer.”

“He is the most selfless man ever and always puts his family first! Our kids absolutely love him and Easton our son tells people he is a coal miner like his daddy,” Ms. McGuire continued.
