“The results of the assembly elections will be declared on May 13,” B Bommai (File) said.
Bengaluru:
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party will return to power in Karnataka with the “biggest majority” and said that Kannada film actor Kichcha Sudeep will accompany him while filing nominations tomorrow.
CM Bommai told ANI, “There is huge support this time and I am confident of winning with the biggest majority this time.”
He confirmed that Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeepa will join him while he files his nomination for the May 10 election.
On former Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar’s defection, the CM said, “Nothing has moved. Not even a small brick has changed. We are going to win all the three Hubli-Dharwad seats including Jagadish Shettar’s seat.”
Hours after former Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar joined the Congress, the BJP on Monday announced its candidate for the Hubli-Dharwad Central seat.
Jagadish Shettar’s resignation from the BJP and his joining the Congress has made Hubli-Dharwad Central an important battle in the assembly elections. Shettar, a six-time MLA, had represented the seat in the outgoing assembly and was keen on being given a ticket from the constituency.
He is the second senior leader of the Lingayat community to leave the ruling BJP and join the Congress in the last four days. Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Laxman Savadi joined the Congress on Friday.
The nomination process for the assembly elections to be held in the state on May 10 will end on April 20.
The results of the assembly elections will be declared on May 13.
