Gandhi was here on Wednesday to attend a workshop to discuss the party’s revival strategy in Uttar Pradesh after its defeat in the recent state elections. Local party leaders said that the Congress leaders, who attended the program on the second day of the program, returned late last night.

Asked if the workshop will continue on Thursday as well, Srivastava said, “Yes. Our national secretary is here and it is going on. Nothing has been cancelled, except Priyanka ji’s programme.”

For the AICC general secretary, who led the party in the February-March state elections in politically crucial Uttar Pradesh on the slogan “Ladki hoon lad shakti hoon”, it is a big task for him to infuse new energy into the party. for the 2024 general election.

Gandhi actively campaigned for the Congress in state elections, but the party won only two of the 403 seats. The two-day workshop is being organized at the State Congress Headquarters.

On the first day of the workshop, issues related to Congress’s digital membership drive, upcoming municipal elections, party organization, politics, economy, agriculture, social justice and youth were discussed.

Apart from the office bearers of Uttar Pradesh Congress, all district and city presidents, MLAs, former MLAs and party candidates for assembly elections and 2019 Lok Sabha elections are participating in the workshop that ends on Thursday.

Gandhi on Wednesday urged party workers not to be disheartened by the assembly election results in Uttar Pradesh and work with “double energy” till victory.

Speaking at the workshop, Gandhi had said that she would work with party workers with double strength and would have to move in the spirit of the ‘Nav Sankalp’ declaration adopted at a party convention in Udaipur in May.
