A meeting of Congress MPs and MLAs held online came to the conclusion that since the Congress party believes in democracy, it should attend the meeting called by the Chief Minister. The MPs and MLAs felt that in the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) governments also they had held meetings with the Chief Minister and also recalled that the opposition MLAs were invited by successive Congress governments on development issues.
Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Bhatti Vikramark will attend the CM’s meeting and he will also take up the party’s demand that the scheme be implemented seriously and not issued as an election gimmick.
Welcoming this scheme on behalf of the Congress, Mr. Bhatti will put forward the demand of the party that the backward classes and economically poor people should be given equal benefits including minorities.
Party MPs and MLAs also suggested raising the issue of the Chief Minister avoiding meeting opposition leaders to discuss development activities in their constituencies.
