Congress will go it alone in 2022 UP elections: Priyanka Gandhi

The Congress general secretary has described it as a ‘do or die’ situation.

Congress will contest all 403 seats in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh elections on its own and will emerge victorious in the electoral battle, party leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Said on Sunday.

Denying an alliance with any political party, he said Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (SP) were nowhere to be seen, even then 2017 Unnao Rape Case And this Hathras gang rape and murder case shook the nation in 2020, saying that only Congress was fighting for the people.

Addressing the party cadre at the Pratigya Sammelan – Lakshya 2022 in Anupshahr, the Congress general secretary stressed on the importance of Uttar Pradesh elections for the party, calling it a “do or die” situation.

Emphasizing that the electoral contest can be won only by strengthening the party at the booth level, he called upon the Congress workers to strengthen the booth committees.

Ms Gandhi asked Congress workers to be active on social media and to post all the activities of the party on various social networking platforms.

Taking a jibe at the ruling BJP, he said the saffron party has no respect for the freedom movement as its leaders did not shed blood and sweat for the country’s independence and said that only leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel And BR Ambedkar had envisioned independence for the country.

Ms Gandhi said that the Congress has not only developed but also promoted brotherhood and harmony.

Hitting out at the BJP-led government at the Center over rising fuel prices, he said for 70 years, the Congress ensured that fuel prices did not rise above Rs 70 per litre. However, in the last seven years, the BJP government has let down the guard, which has allowed prices to go above Rs 100 a litre.
