Congress will hold a meeting of Himachal MLAs in Chandigarh to elect the leader of the Congress Legislature Party.

After the results were announced on Thursday, the Congress has called a meeting of all its newly elected MLAs of Himachal Pradesh in Chandigarh. The meeting was expected to approve a resolution allowing the Congress president to choose the leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP).

He further said that the party would make every effort to fulfill the ten promises made to the citizens of the state and offer better governance.

Shukla told PTI, “The newly elected Congress MLAs will meet in Chandigarh after the election results are out and decide on electing a new leader of the legislature party.”

According to sources, the legislators are likely to approve a one-line resolution giving the Congress president the power to choose the CLP leader. He claimed that it was the tradition of the Congress party to do so.

“The party is sending two observers – Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and senior leader Bhupinder Hooda – with me. We will go to Chandigarh sometime later today, where all party MLAs have been called,” Shukla said.

“The election results are in our favor and we are likely to win around 40 seats. We are confident that there will be a chance for us to regain power in Himachal,” Shukla told reporters.

He said that people are looking forward as they are tired of BJP’s rule and the party will fulfill the ten promises made to the citizens of the state and provide good governance, as it did during the last six terms when Virbhadra Singh led the state. Worked as. Chief Minister.

Shukla also expressed gratitude for the assistance in election preparations provided by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former leaders Sonia and Rahul Gandhi and organization general secretary KC Venugopal.

He claimed that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra has indirectly affected the elections and the public. Baghel was selected as the senior observer for the election, while Shukla is the AICC representative for Himachal Pradesh.

According to the most recent figures from the Election Commission of India, the BJP won 13 seats and was leading in 13 seats, while the Congress won 15 seats and was leading in 24 seats. It has a majority of 35 seats in the 68-member assembly.
