With the construction work of the East-West Metro rail project from Salt Lake Sector V to Howrah Maidan expected to be completed by the end of the year, an official said on Sunday that all rights have been taken to resolve the problems at Bahu Bazar. Bahu Bazar in central Kolkata was hit by a landslide on 31 August 2019 and several buildings collapsed. The completion of the project has been delayed due to two more incidents of water logging at the same site in 2022.
