Covid-19: India sees decline in daily cases, records 112 new infections today

India has recorded 112 new coronavirus infections, while the active cases have come down to 3,490, according to the Union health ministry’s data updated on Tuesday.

The country’s cumulative Covid-19 tally stood at 4.46 crore (4,46,76,199).

The death toll stands at 5,30,677 with three fatalities, including two deaths in Kerala and one in Maharashtra in the last 24 hours, updated at 8 am.

The active cases comprise 0.01 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has risen to 98.80 per cent, the ministry said.

A decrease of 69 cases has been registered in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

The number of people who recovered from the disease increased to 4,41,42,032, while the death rate was recorded at 1.19 percent.

According to the Ministry’s website, 220 crore doses of Kovid vaccine have been given so far in the country under the nationwide vaccination campaign.

India’s Covid-19 tally crossed 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It had crossed 60 lakhs on 28th September, 70 lakhs on 11th October. Crossed 80 lakhs on 29th October, 90 lakhs on 20th November and one crore on 19th December.

The country crossed the critical mark of two crore on May 4 last year and three crore on June 23. It crossed the four crore mark on January 25 this year.
