India’s Covid-19 caseload rose to 43,121,599, while the number of active cases declined to 17,692 with 2,487 fresh infections on Sunday, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.
The death toll rose to 5,24,214 with 13 more deaths, data updated at 8 am.
active case Contains 0.04% of total infections. The ministry said that the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.74%.
A decrease of 404 cases has been registered in Active COVID-19 Caseload in 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.61% and weekly positivity rate at 0.62%, the ministry said.
The number of people recovering from the viral disease increased to 4,25,79,693. It said that the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.22%.
The total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered so far in the country under the nationwide immunization drive has crossed 191.32 crores.
Yesterday, the national capital Delhi reported a 25% drop in its daily COVID cases. The city reported 673 cases on Saturday while 899 cases were registered in the city on Friday.
Delhi’s positivity rate has come down to 2.77%.
At the same time, 248 cases were reported in Maharashtra on Saturday. Currently, Delhi and Maharashtra are the only places in India with daily Covid cases exceeding 100. In other states, such as Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and others, daily Covid infections are less than 50.
