The Uttar Pradesh government announced that it has decided to end the night curfew from today (February 19) as the number of daily infections in the state is on a downward trend.
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi said, “In view of the sharp drop in the cases of coronavirus, it has been decided to end the night curfew from today.”
In the last 24 hours, 842 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Uttar Pradesh, taking the caseload in the state to 20,63,9041. Active cases have come down from around 15,000 a week ago to 8,683 today.
In the last few days, there has been a sharp decline in the cases of Kovid across the country. This morning, India reported a 14 per cent drop in daily cases as it registered 22,270 cases.
