COVID: Over 1,000 new cases reported in Delhi in last 24 hours, active cases now highest after February 15

Delhi COVID Updates: According to the health bulletin by the Delhi government on Friday (April 22), 1,042 new COVID cases (77 more than yesterday) were reported in the national capital in the last 24 hours, the highest since February 10 this year.

The city had recorded 1,104 cases on February 10. With this, the active cases in the national capital crossed the 3,000-mark and currently stands at 3,253. This is the highest since February 15 when the active cases in the city stood at 3,397.

The city’s daily case positivity rate stands at 4.64 per cent. 757 COVID patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours after taking the total number of recoveries in the city to 18,43,282 since the start of the pandemic.

During this, two patients died of this virus. The death toll in the city has risen to 26,164. 22,442 COVID samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

47,064 beneficiaries were vaccinated during this period under the government’s immunization programme, taking the cumulative dose of vaccination to 3,30,59,731.

Meanwhile, India’s COVID-19 cases continue to rise as the country recorded 2,451 fresh COVID-19 cases (71 cases more than yesterday) with 54 fatalities on Friday.
