Credit to Indian banks grew by 11.1% in two weeks till April 22: RBI

Outstanding loans fell by Rs 11,233 crore ($1.46 billion) to Rs 11,955 crore in the two weeks to April 22.

Loans to Indian banks rose 11.1% in the two weeks to April 22 from a year ago, while deposits rose 9.8%, the Reserve Bank of India’s weekly statistical supplement showed on Friday.

Outstanding loans fell by Rs 11,233 crore ($1.46 billion) to Rs 11,955 crore in the two weeks to April 22.

Non-food credit fell by Rs 13,950 crore to Rs 11,912 crore, while food credit rose by Rs 2,718 crore to Rs 42,552 crore.

Bank deposits fell by Rs 1.17 lakh crore to Rs 166.24 lakh crore in the two weeks till April 22.
