Criticism of Police: ‘Home Minister’s use of indecent words’

Home Minister Araga Gyanendra has defamed the government by defaming the police force and showing the police personnel in a bad light. Former minister and senior Congress leader B. Ramnath Rai said here on Monday that Mr. Gyanendra is not fit to continue as Home Minister.

Talking to reporters, Mr. Rai said that Mr. Gyanendra, while Criticism of the alleged failure of the police In action against those involved in cow slaughter, have used words which are indecent to their position.

“It is not criticism. It shows his inability to hold the post of Home Minister,” he said.

By using such words against the police personnel, Shri Gyanendra has shown that the present government has failed to run the state properly.

Pointing to the alleged defamation of then Superintendent of Police Bhushan Gulabrao Borase at Circuit House when he [Mr. Rai] While RSS leader Kalladka was the district in-charge minister for the former’s alleged failure to act against Prabhakar Bhat, Mr. Rai denied that he had defamed the officer.

“Let the officer concerned say this, then I will quit politics,” he said, adding that in 2017 a part of the video of his conversation with the officer was circulated on social media to defame him.

Mr Rai said he was also falsely accused of blocking temple funds to provide mid-day meals for students of Sri Ram School in Kalladka.
