CTCRI, Digital University to collaborate on agri-tech research

Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (ICAR-CTCRI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Digital University of Kerala (DUK) to collaborate on agricultural technology research by setting up a center of excellence in agricultural technologies.

The MoU paves the way for both the institutes to collaborate and leverage their expertise to develop cutting-edge technologies to address value-chain problems in the agriculture sector in the country. Other areas of cooperation will include joint student research programs as well as joint research and development projects to develop sustainable entrepreneurship.

DUK Vice-Chancellor Saji Gopinath said in a press release, “We believe that this unique association between a digital technology institute and a premier agricultural research organization will help develop a number of innovative products to enhance digital enablement and transformation of agriculture.” Will do.”

As part of the MoU, DUK will set up a research center at CTCRI and also set up various capacity building programs in digital technologies for the manpower employed in the agriculture sector.
