CUET 2022 Day 3 Analysis: Economics ‘tough and long’, History moderate, candidates claimed

on the third of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2022, the candidates claimed that the Economics paper was difficult and lengthy while Accountancy was easy. In Humanities section, the pattern of Political Science paper was similar to that of NTA mock paper whereas History was of moderate difficulty level with equal focus on Modern and Medieval History.

“The commerce students had a mixed reaction today. While the Accountancy paper was easy, the Economics paper gave mixed reactions and some called it difficult and lengthy. The Political Science paper was like the NTA mocks given with emphasis on political developments, parties and their dominance, emergency and politics since independence. History was of moderate difficulty level with a focus on modern and medieval history,” said Amitendra Kumar – Product Head at CUET and Undergraduate Program.

“In the second section featuring domain subjects, considering the general pool of candidates in JEE and NEET, science-based papers are scheduled in Phase 2 which begins in August. In the first phase, NTA is covering only commerce and humanities based subjects,” he said. Hence, there were no science papers today.

The first section which covers Language had focused on Vocabulary and Grammar in the English paper. About 70 per cent questions were from these two areas. “The questions based on Synonyms, Antonyms, Spelling Error, Fill in the Blanks, Para-Jumble were designed to evaluate one’s skills in vocabulary and grammar. Questions based on the passage were direct and factual,” Kumar he said.

The last section is the general test section and it questions from current affairs and static general knowledge. “It covered wide areas. The questions were from many subjects including science, economics, geography, politics etc. The numerical ability based questions were from Algebra and Arithmetic while reasoning was a mixed bag including visual reasoning,” he added.

Meanwhile, the first day of CUET 2022 was quite chaotic. Many candidates alleged Lastly, the exam missed by changing the exam center Moment. At the same time, examinations at two centers in New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal and Pathankot in Punjab were canceled due to technical reasons.
