Mumbai: Newly appointed Maharashtra Minister of Cultural Affairs Sudhir Mungantiwar Said on Sunday that all the officers of the state government will have to say “I salute you, Mother“Instead of hello when receiving phone calls in offices.
“We are entering the 76th year of independence. We are celebrating Amrit Festival (of independence). That’s why I want the officers to say ‘Vande Mataram’ over the phone instead of Namaste.”

He said the formal government order would come by August 18.
“I want all government officials in the state to say ‘Vande Mataram’ (while receiving the phone) by January 26 next year,” he said.
