Online food ordering has undoubtedly made our lives a lot easier. The convenience and ease of placing orders through the mobile application and getting them delivered at our doorstep is unmatched. This hassle-free process, however, comes with its own set of drawbacks. Both the customer and the restaurant share interesting incidents that happened to them while ordering food online. Recently, we all were shocked to read about a Swiggy delivery driver who used another app to deliver coffee. And now another such incident has surfaced online which has gone viral. Recently, a customer claimed that he had not received his pizza order from a restaurant. What the restaurant owner did after that will astonish you, to say the least!
The pizza was the one the customer had ordered online and claimed not to be received.
The incident took place in York, United Kingdom at a restaurant called Aborcibus Pizza. Pizza Place owner Conor Coland was contacted by a food delivery app after a customer claimed he had not received his receipt. count, The order value is £23.49 or approximately Rs. 2,293 and included a 12-inch pizza, chicken fries and mozzarella dippers. However, Koland said the order was shipped by his restaurant and was surprised to hear that it had not been received.
The owner of Pizza Place then decided to take matters into his own hands and investigate the matter himself. He went to the customer’s address and checked cans out. He was shocked to find the empty container in the dustbin! Clearly, the order was consumed, and the customer filed a false refund claim with the delivery application. Conor Coland then took to Facebook and wrote about the customer’s complaint of fraud. He also demanded an apology from the customer and said that such incidents mean huge cost to his business, according to a report. Metro,

Many users reacted to this bizarre and false claim made by the customer. “You wouldn’t be the first business they even did and it’s a shame that people think this is acceptable,” wrote a user, Several others also pointed out that the restaurant business was already having trouble surviving after two years of the pandemic. “For a small business that also does so much for the community, I think it’s such a shame that anyone weird would do that. Embarrassing,” commented another.
