Minor consolidation or intraday volatility can be expected at the 17400-17500 level hurdle and eventually move that barrier upwards in the near term. Nagraj Shetty, Technical Research Analyst, HDFC Securities said, “Near term upside target is to be seen at 17800 level and immediate support is placed at 17150 level.”

“The market continues the uptrend as the bulls continue to attack the 17000-17500 zone. As long as the benchmark index remains above the 200 DMA at 17025, the trend is likely to remain positive. 17000 will act as important support in the near term. While at the higher end, 17500 may act as significant resistance. Again, above 17500, Nifty may move towards 18000,” said Rupak Dey, Senior Technical Analyst, LKP Securities.
