New Delhi: Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Thursday launched a new special housing scheme with over 18,000 flats, all units taken from its old list, officials said.
This is the housing authority’s second such scheme this year, which is being introduced for the first time in early 2021.
The DDA made the announcement through a newspaper advertisement that said the flats were being sold at “discounted prices”, and according to a DDA brochure, the maximum price of a flat in the HIG category in Jasola is around Rs 2.14 crore.
A DDA official said 18,335 flats of different categories, located in Dwarka, Narela, Rohini and Jasola, are being offered under the scheme, which remained “unsold in previous housing schemes” of the urban planning authority.
He said that the scheme has been launched completely online and there will be no formal launch.
The list includes – 205 HIG flats, 976 MIG flats, 11,452 LIG flats and 5,702 flats under EWS/Janata flats category.
The decision to launch a new housing scheme was taken during an online meeting of the DDA’s authority held on November 24 under the chairmanship of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, who is also the chairman of the DDA.
Announcing the approval of the new scheme, the DDA in a statement had said that the flats were being offered cost in rebate in old rates or DDA’s cost policy, which would be updated every financial year on depreciation or depreciation basis. goes. Cost of land or building, as the case may be.
The DDA said that the flats in Narela sub-city are being offered after taking several remedial measures based on improving infrastructure, improving security and connectivity, response of the allottees and residents of the area.
The statement said that if the allottees take a home loan from a bank or financial institution, they will be eligible for subsidy under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana of the central government.
Officials said that the entire process from application to allotment and possession is being done online.
The DDA had on March 10 allotted 1,353 flats to people under its housing scheme launched in January 2021, which were streamed online through draw of lots.
Of these, 689 flats were surrendered by the allottees, nearly 50 per cent of the total inventory under the scheme with Covid-19 and other factors being attributed to the abandonment of such a large number of flats by the authorities.
Later in August, the DDA conducted a draw for 689 flats under the 2021 housing scheme which were surrendered by the allottees, out of which only 79 waitlisted applicants were allotted units from this lot.
