Nicolas Moreno de Alboran of America caused an upset by defeating top seed Chun-Hsien Tseng in straight sets 6-2, 6-4 in the second round of the Chennai Open ATP Challenger 100 tournament on Wednesday. World No. 213 Alboran broke the Taiwanese twice in the first set to take a 5-0 lead. Although Tseng managed to break once, he was broken again in the eighth game and politely surrendered the set.

Alboran played aggressively with his powerful forehand stroke, especially on Tseng’s second serve.

Known for his speed on the court, Tseng looked better in the second set and even broke in the fourth game after Alboran committed two double faults.

The American, however, made a quick comeback by breaking in the eighth game. To stay in the match, Tseng threw in the towel and broke in love as she hit some unforced errors and a double fault in the tenth game.
