Indra Meghwal, a student of a private school in Surana village of Jalore district, was thrashed by her teacher on July 20.
The incident has created a controversy, with family members claiming that the boy was beaten up for being a Dalit while the teacher belonged to an upper caste.

Department of Social Justice and Empowerment The NCSC of Jalore district of Rajasthan shared the police report with the NCSC after it sought clarification from the state government on the matter.
The boy’s father and uncle mentioned the incident in the police report.
The boy succumbed to his injuries on August 13 at a hospital in Ahmedabad.

According to the police report shared by the NCSC, Meghwal was thirsty and tried to drink water from a vessel meant for the head of the institution. Seeing this, the teacher started beating the boy due to which he fell and blood started bleeding from his ear.
The report said that her father, who has a repair shop opposite the school where Meghwal had come, narrated the incident complaining of ear pain.

Devaram Meghwal took his son to Bajrang Hospital in Bagoda the next day, where he was treated, but after two days his ear pain started again, after which the boy’s father took him to Aastha Multi Specialty Hospital in Bhinmal, where he was admitted for a day. , it said.
After the ear pain did not subside, Devaram took his son to a third hospital – Triveni Multispecialty Hospital and Trauma Center in Bhinmal, where the boy was admitted for another two days.
The report said that when there was no reduction in pain, the boy’s family was advised to go to another hospital in Gujarat.
The father then took the boy to the fourth hospital – Karni Hospital in Deesa.
Here, the report said that he was treated for a day and then taken to Triveni Hospital but when the boy’s pain still did not subside, he went to Fifth Hospital – a neurological center where he was treated for six days.

When the pain did not subside, the boy was taken to the Geetanjali Hospital in Udaipur and finally referred to the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad, where the boy died.
NCSC President Vijay Sampla said that it is clear that in view of the serious condition of the boy, he was referred from the hospital to another hospital.
“The serious condition of the boy cannot be due to a slap so we have asked the state government what exactly happened. On such incidents the state government gives an explanation.”
Police have arrested 40-year-old teacher Chail Singh and charged him with murder and booked him under sections of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
