Delhi BJP workers protest outside CM Kejriwal’s residence over liquor scam

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers staged a massive protest outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence on Saturday, demanding his resignation over allegations of corruption in Delhi’s now-cancelled new liquor policy.

Protest Protests were also held outside the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) offices and BJP workers clashed with the police while trying to break barricades. In the video going viral on social media, police can be seen pushing BJP workers who are trying to cross the police barricades.

Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Thursday took cognizance of the charge sheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the Excise Policy case of Delhi. The central agency has named several businessmen, including AAP’s former communication head Vijay Nair, in the charge sheet.

“This Court is of the considered opinion that there is sufficient ground and material to proceed against the prosecution of all the twelve accused persons vide this supplementary complaint as all of them have been found, directly or indirectly, to have attempted or Indulging in or knowingly aiding or actually being a party to, or actually involved in, the process or activities connected with the proceeds of crime generated through the proceeds of the above-scheduled offence, its concealment, possession, acquisition, use, and projection or claim including doing so to be unblemished property,” said Special Judge MK Nagpal.

The ED has conducted its investigation under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and has submitted in its charge sheet that the Delhi Excise Policy, 2021-22 was framed by top level politicians. AAP Continued generation and use of illicit funds for himself.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reacted to the chargesheet and said, “ED must have filed 5000 chargesheets during the tenure of this government. How many of them were punished? ED’s cases are fake. They file cases to eliminate corruption.” Don’t. EDs are used to hunt.” Legislators make and break the government. Hence the ED’s charge sheet is completely fictitious.”
