The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Thursday decided not to impose any penalty for not wearing face masks in public places in the national capital.
However, DDMA may issue an advisory for people asking them to wear masks in crowded places. PTI report good.
Presently, the penalty of 500 for not wearing a mask in public places in Delhi.
This decision was taken in a meeting of DDMA chaired by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal. This comes after the city recorded a significant drop in the number of new cases of coronavirus in the past few days.
Meanwhile, according to the data shared by the health department, Delhi on Wednesday recorded 123 Covid-19 cases with a positivity rate of 0.50%, while one death was reported due to the infection.
With these fresh cases, the national capital’s tally rose to 18,64,857. It added that the death toll stands at 26,151.
The department in its latest bulletin said that 24,706 Covid-19 tests were conducted here on the previous day.
