Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia claimed that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday summoned Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) MCD election in-charge Durgesh Pathak in connection with the Delhi government’s excise policy.
Sisodia took to Twitter to share the news and questioned whether the ED was targeting the liquor policy or the MCD elections.
In a tweet in Hindi, Sisodia wrote, “ED has summoned AAP’s MCD election in-charge Durgesh Pathak today. What does our MCD election in-charge have to do with Delhi government’s excise policy? Is his target liquor policy or MCD’s? Election?”
The Enforcement Directorate is yet to officially confirm the summons of Durgesh Pathak.
With the completion of the first phase of delimitation, elections to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) could be held by the end of the year. In the first phase of delimitation, it has been recommended to reduce the wards of MCD from 272 to 250.
