Officials said the revenue department of the Delhi government is preparing to adopt the faceless National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS), which will make it easier to obtain documents related to land papers, lease rent agreements and other such legal formalities.
In a recent review of the functioning of sub-registrar offices, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had directed the adoption of NGDRS, according to news agency PTI.
He added that the system would make it easier for people to upload required documents Registration of Sale DeedsPower of Attorney, and execute the Will, from the comfort of your homes, make payments and take appointments at the Sub-registrar offices through the online system.
Officials said the faceless service would eliminate the need to visit sub-registrar offices for these purposes and reduce crowding there.
He said that a pilot project in this regard would be launched in the next few weeks and the system is expected to be implemented by August.
Last October, the central government asked state governments to set up local servers as well as increase internet speed in sub-registrar offices to promote digitization of land records in India.
According to official data, the government has also integrated some sub-registrar offices and tehsils with land records. The government has also asked states to set up a local server for the National Common Document Registration System (NGDRS) to improve internet speed to ensure better maintenance of digital data and greater digital tracking of land records.
even though NGDRS system Specially designed for the use of Sub-Registrars and Officers of Registration Departments, it can also be used by other citizens for land registration purposes. Many states are still doing the land registration process with private vendors and private partners. These states are yet to migrate to NGDRS.
NGDRS system is the flagship program of the government to digitize the land records system in the country. The system will provide a major change from the existing methods of land registration and even transactions. With NGDRS, people will be able to perform all processes digitally, be it sale or transfer of land or land.
The system started as a pilot project in Punjab, Rajasthan and Maharashtra in its initial phase and has now been implemented in many states of the country.
