New Delhi: The Delhi Police has arrested at least six people and registered over 100 FIRs in connection with “objectionable posters”, including posters containing derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the national capital. The owners of two printing presses are also among those arrested.
According to reports, posters with captions were also put up in some parts of Delhi “Remove Modi, save the country”. However, the posters lacked details of the printing press. Police also removed around 2,000 ‘anti-Modi’ posters from various places in the city.
Case registered under relevant section
Speaking to ANI, Special CP Dipendra Pathak said that Delhi Police has swung into action and registered a case under sections of Printing Press Act and Defacement of Property Act.

“A van was also stopped as soon as it left the AAP office. Some posters were seized and arrests were made,” he said.
Further investigation is on in the matter.
