Delhi Police has informed a court here that it has filed a supplementary charge sheet against the remaining accused in the Chhatrasal Stadium murder case involving Olympic medalist wrestler Sushil Kumar. In the first chargesheet filed by the police on August 2, 13 accused, including main accused Sushil Kumar, were named.

According to the police, there are a total of 17 accused in the alleged murder. Additional Sessions Judge Shivaji Anand, in an order dated October 27, said that it has been submitted by the investigating officer of the case that supplementary charge sheet for the remaining accused has been filed by him.

Kumar had allegedly assaulted former junior national wrestling champion Sagar Dhankhar and his friends at the stadium in May over an alleged property dispute with others. Dhankhar later died. In the earlier chargesheet, the police had said that the brawl at the stadium was the result of a conspiracy by Sushil Kumar, who wanted to re-establish his supremacy among the young wrestlers. Kumar’s bail was rejected earlier this month.

The Delhi Police had registered an FIR against the accused under sections including murder, attempt to murder, culpable homicide not amounting to murder, criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, dacoity, rioting and other sections.
