delhi covid cases: Delhi recorded 702 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, while four people lost their lives to the disease, the city’s health department said. The positivity rate in the state was recorded at 4.49 per cent. The number of active COVID cases in Delhi is 3,654, up from 4,310 on the previous day. The bulletin said that 2,580 patients are in home isolation.

The department said in its latest bulletin that new cases were reported out of 15,632 tests conducted on the previous day. A day earlier, Delhi reported 945 fresh Covid cases with a positivity rate of 5.55 per cent and six fatalities. Tuesday saw 959 cases and nine deaths with a positivity rate of 6.14 per cent. The city reported 625 cases and seven deaths on Monday, while the positivity rate stood at 9.27 per cent. On Sunday, Delhi saw 942 cases with a positivity rate of 7.25 per cent.

The number of active COVID cases in Delhi is 3,654, up from 4,310 on the previous day. The bulletin said that 2,580 patients are in home isolation. Of the 9,421 beds reserved for Kovid patients in various hospitals in Delhi, 381 are occupied. It said that there are 259 containment zones in the city. The number of daily COVID cases in Delhi touched a record high of 28,867 during the third wave of the pandemic on January 13 this year. The city recorded a positivity rate of 30.6 per cent on January 14, the highest during the third wave.

Maharashtra reported 1,887 fresh Covid cases on Thursday, taking the tally to 80,91,276, the health bulletin said. The state also recorded six deaths related to the infection, raising the toll to 1,48,214.

Out of the total cases, the financial capital recorded 838 new coronavirus cases and two deaths. This was followed by one death each in Pune city, Solapur city and Raigad and Solapur districts. read more
