The national capital Delhi on Sunday reported 1530 new COVID-19 cases in a span of 24 hours. The positivity rate in the national capital also reached 8.41% on Sunday.
Delhi 267 cases were seen less as compared to Saturday. On Saturday, 1,797 new cases of Kovid were registered in the national capital.
With the addition of Sunday, the total active COVID cases in Delhi rose to 5,542. Delhi also reported three Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours.
However, there was a marginal increase in the positivity rate in the national capital as Delhi’s Covid positivity rate stood at 8.18% on Saturday.

This was the fifth consecutive day that Delhi recorded over 1,300 cases in a day. Fresh cases were reported out of 18,183 covid test Held the previous day.
In its latest bulletin, the department said that the fresh infections took Delhi’s COVID tally to 19,22,089, while the death toll rose to 26,232.
Also, the positivity rate on Sunday was the highest since January 28, when 8.6 per cent of the total people tested came out positive.

Friday’s figures were the highest since February 4 when the national capital recorded 2,272 cases and 20 deaths with a positivity rate of 3.85 per cent.
Despite the increase in the positivity rate, the city government is not implementing the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) prepared by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority as hospitalizations are low.
The GRAP came into force in August last year, stipulating the measures to be taken by the government for locking and unlocking various activities according to the positivity rate and bed occupancy.
Of the 9,506 hospital beds, 249 have been occupied, an increase from 241 on the previous day, while none of the COVID care centers and COVID health centers have beds.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in Delhi rose to 5,542 from 5,119 on Saturday, the latest bulletin said. Over the previous day’s 3,370, 3,781 patients are in home isolation, while the city has 241 containment zones.
Experts have said that people letting their guard down and traveling during the holiday season are the main reasons behind the latest rise in coronavirus cases in the national capital.
