Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a new initiative under ‘Delhi Ki Yogshala’.

Delhi residents who are in home isolation due to COVID-19 infection can now “boost immunity” with the help of yoga Posture And Pranayama (breathing exercise), Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said today that he has started a new initiative under ‘Delhi Ki’ Yogashala“Amidst rising cases of coronavirus.
“We have come up with an amazing program for those who are in isolation… Delhi Government is launching a new initiative under ‘Delhi Ki’. Yogashala‘ For the speedy recovery of all such Kovid patients,” the Chief Minister said.
Yoga classes will be taken virtually from Wednesday and trained instructors will conduct hour-long sessions in the morning and evening.
“Yoga boosts immunity… We will send them a link today and classes will start in different batches from tomorrow,” Kejriwal said.
Amidst rising covid cases, Largely driven by the Omron version, the Delhi government has imposed several restrictions such as shutting down the dine-in facility in restaurants and making it mandatory for private offices to work from home except for essential services.
Every fourth person who tested positive in Delhi turned out to be Covid positive – the city recorded 19,166 cases on Monday.
However, the hospitalization rate in Delhi remains low and most of the Covid positive patients are recovering in home isolation.
Mr Kejriwal said that in what seems to be a one-of-a-kind initiative, the Delhi government has made arrangements to conduct online classes in home isolation for 40,000 patients. He said, “I think such a program is happening for the first time… no one in the whole world is doing such a program for corona infected home isolation patients.”
There will be a total of eight classes each day and patients can register for their chosen time slot.
The Chief Minister informed that 15 patients will attend each class and the participants can also interact with their trainers.
The Chief Minister said, “The pace of increase in the cases of corona virus in Delhi has slowed down for the last two-three days. It is expected that it will come down further and this trend will continue.”
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Monday said the COVID-19 cases are likely to peak in the city “definitely this week” and infections may start falling in the third wave thereafter.
